Hersesia Cors is a historical character from Spira Caelix who is long deceased by the time of the story's beginning. She was the leader of the spirit rebellion against Eminent Mers, an ancient empire that vanished centuries ago, leaving nothing behind but a bizarrely spherical hole carved into the mountains of Meridan. She was thought to have been slain or executed at some point during the Spirit Wars before Eminent Mers's disappearance, and many theorize that her death was the catalyst for its fate.

In life, she was said to be a proud and noble woman with limitless patience for her comrades. As a spirit, her natural existence was once that of a conglomeration of mana that existed only in the ethereal plane, a realm layered atop the corporeal that cannot be observed without magic; she was bound to the corporeal world via the process of spirit binding, a now-forgotten art invented by Eminent Mers used in antiquity to command spirits to do their bidding. Modern Spirians have more or less deified her, and an annual holiday celebrates the date that she was believed to have been summoned.


Hersesia was trained with a sword, but she could use many other weapons if necessary, including improvised ones. She was known to carry a gleaming white sword with her at all times: likely her core, the very thing that bound her to the corporeal world.

She specialized in the use of light magic and, being a spirit, had capabilities far beyond that of most mortal beings. It is said that she was able to manipulate life itself, a feat that should be impossible.
